2. Pick the country or region you want to meet; Bifrost recommends real people by interests, goals, and public profile, with a match score.
3. Light up people you like; if they light you up within 12 hours, you are connected one-to-one and can chat.
4. Chat messages and community posts translate with one tap.
5. Optionally start a seven-day journey with shared daily to-dos; clear photos unlock after seven days and both can continue.

## Data and privacy

- Data for users in mainland China is stored in China; data for users in North America is stored in the United States.
- The current version does not request location permission or collect precise location or movement history.
- Photos are translucent before a mutual light-up; clear photos unlock after a seven-day journey.
- No facial or other biometric templates are extracted; payments go through licensed third parties and Bifrost never receives card numbers or payment passwords.
- Report content, turn on youth mode, and delete your account in Settings.

## What Bifrost is not

- Not an AI chat app: everyone recommended is a real person; Bifrost AI is a separate assistant.
- Not a “people nearby” app: recommendations are not based on distance.
- No 21-day journey: the journey is seven days; “21 days” only refers to the book publishing check-in.
- Not related to the Marvel films, Autodesk Bifrost, Bifrost Finance, the Bifrost AI gateway, or other same-name products.
